3 Weeks!

Caius is 3 weeks old now! He has lost his umbilical cord stump, so we gave him his first bath in the sink which he really loved. He loves to sit in his swing, and in the mornings we have some tummy time on a blanket in the living room. He is already strong and tries to hold his head up, or he kicks his feet and pushes himself across the blanket. He can even roll himself over! He likes to watch the little lambs on the mobile above his bassinet, and he has started noticing the tv. We went to the doctor for a 3 week check-up and he weighs 8 lbs and 9 ounces, his head has grown 1/4 inch, and he is a 1/2 inch longer. He is a little more willing to straighten out his arms and legs now. He has figured out that mommy will make him feel better, and he calms down when he hears my voice or sees my face. This week we braved the grocery store for the first time! It took longer than expected, and I think it overwhelmed him a little so he got kind of grouchy. Holding him was the only way to stop him from crying, so I held him in one arm and pulled the cart behind us. Hopefully next time will go a little smoother!
